Calvin Klein‘s 205W39NYC Spring 2019 new product launch was held during the New York Fashion Week at the US Fashion Brand Space at 205 West 39th Street, at 8:00pm on September 11, 2018, New York.

In this spring 2019 new product launch, designer Raf Simons still incorporates the elements of the film in his design. This time his latest collection incorporates two completely different styles of classic american films Jaws (1975) and The Graduate ( 1967) as a source of inspiration. Inspired by the beauty and tension between land and sea as the entire background design, the show chooses to be associated with transitions and unknowns as well as predators and questioning authority.

“The landscape of America – literal, and psychological – inspires Calvin Klein,” said Simons’ show notes. “A journey through America leads, inevitably, to the edge of the landscape: the beach.”

“At the beach there is this incredible idea of beauty, but also a tension – between land and ocean, a feeling of two worlds meeting, maybe colliding,” he continued. “There’s a sense of the unexpected – and always, a temptation. For me, Jaws perfectly exemplifies these notions.”

In the show, men and women models wear a graphic T-shirt with the iconic Jaws poster, while the shoulders are hung with a that left waterlogged rings around the collars, while the lower body shows the wetsuit with half of the natural hanging down. Their wet hair and ocean scenes loop in the background. There is even bite-like skirt similar to the Jaws massacre that was taken out of the big shark’s mouth. The collision of the elements of the different ages shown in the back and the wearing of the bachelor cap seem to return to the scene of the university era.
