Nike will Launch Air Jordan III Tinker “Air Max I” to Celebrate Air Max Day 2019 | Release Date

-

Nike Air Max is a line of shoes first released by Nike, Inc. in 1987. The shoe was originally designed by Tinker Hatfield, who also designed many of the Air Jordan models. The Nike air technology was created and patented by employee M. Frank Rudy.

The Air Max 1 was released on March 26, 1987 as the first product in the Air Max line and it is the first shoe to have Nike’s air cushioning unit on full display. The sneaker’s upper was made of nylon and synthetic felt. A leather version was later released in 1988.

To commemorate the release of this successful series, Nike set the release date of Air Max 1 as the annual Air Max Day celebration and during the March 26th of every year, Nike often releases some limited edition classics shoes.

In celebration this year’s Air Max Day, Nike announced will launch the Air Jordan III Tinker “Air Max I” sneakers – two of Tinker Hatfield’s most iconic silhouettes merge in the Air Max 1-inspired Air Jordan III Tinker. It uses the same University Red and white color scheme as the OG AM1, and comes with interchangeable Swooshes and Nike Air branding.

The Air Jordan III Tinker “Air Max I” releases globally on March 30.
