Today, Instagram officially announced the Introducing “Checkout” feature. When we find a product we like, we can now buy it without leaving the app.
With the increasing trend of online shopping, Instagram, which has always been a popular social application platform based on instant sharing of pictures and video sharing, obviously hopes to have a place in the online shopping trend.
Today, Instagram officially announced the launch of its new “Checkout” feature to help us easily complete a one-stop shopping experience without leaving the app.
As we all know, before this new feature is launched, we could only click on the relevant product sticker in the user-shared post, and then on the Instagram page of the product, click the link “View on Website” and then complete the purchase by jumping from the original Instagram page to the merchant’s shopping website page.

Obviously, the checkout function announced today will make it easier and faster for users to do shopping. According to the official Instagram introduction, when we tap to view a product from a brand’s shopping post, you’ll see a “Checkout on Instagram” button on the product page. Tap it to select from various options such as size or color, then you’ll proceed to payment without leaving Instagram. You’ll only need to enter your name, email, billing information and shipping address the first time you check out.
Also, customers will receive notifications about shipment and delivery right inside Instagram, so we can track of our purchases at any time. Instagram also offers users a variety of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Paypal.
Checkout on Instagram is currently in closed beta for businesses and available to people in the US. You can find the brands currently available below — and more will be coming soon!
