Sports company PUMA launches ROMA 68 OG, a timeless classic that was originally launched to celebrate Italy’s historic Euro Cup Victory in 1968. Known for its minimalist good looks, the sport-turned-street icon returns over 50 years later through a series of drops and exciting collaborations in 2019.
ROMA is the stuff of PUMA Archive legend. The original, which debuted in 1968, was geared for sprints, hurdles and sweatbands with its padded styling. On the heels of its sporting heritage, the sneakers versatile and sleek design gained popularity among football casuals in the 80’s. A subcultural icon in its own right, it soon became synonymous with fashion and street culture for its retro cool appeal.
A perfect nod to its rich heritage, the 2019 edition is revived in all its glory featuring OG colorways and luxe materials. With a premium leather upper, the sneaker’s low-profile cut is fitted with a gum outsole and reinforced heel to provide extra comfort. Completing the look with an iconic blue Formstrip and gold branding on the upper, the sneaker pack debuts in Whisper White – Blue Yonder colorway.
